paper bag trench

Rain, rain, rain… Autumn has definitely arrived to Brussels. Yellow leaves are starting to fall and the wind is blowing colder. However, we never know what tomorrow brings, since the weather has been so unpredictable for months. Anyway, it was time to unearth the middle season clothes, including my trench coat which I call the Paper Bag trench. I wore my Martin Margiela trench coat with a belt from Dirk Bikkembergs, jeans from Cheap Monday, a Burberry bag and my age old cognac boots.

A day undone

I’ve spent the whole day on the couch, totally not like me! Normally I’m always working, running, planning, organizing and doing and now I’ve been reading, napping, watching TV, thinking of new ideas and napping again. I wish I could get my energy back soon and be back in the game again. But I think I should learn to be still, quiet and load my batteries as well. Somehow I still feel guilty if at the end of the day I feel I didn’t achieve much. And I would like to go out, enjoy the rays of sun that might be the last of this Indian summer. In my mind is a moment from the terrace of Bar du Matin from a few days back; more moments like this, please.

Brussels Vintage Market 4/9/2011

It was the first time I visited the Brussels Vintage Market at K-nal. In the industrial interior young designers were selling their creations, vintage traders anything from shoes to sunglasses and dresses to beautifully aged leather bags. The busy staff was serving bagels and delicious pea soup to the hungry and colorful beverages to the thirsty. The Hé Madameke necklaces were combining guns and sharp objects with blindfolded forest animals. Lovely! The colorful necklaces of Byram Bxl stood out. Byram explained that he has recently started to work with new materials and the teasers he had with him looked stunning. If I wasn’t so broke at the moment, I would have gone home with one! If only I could see the lady who tiptoed around in these back in the days.

Inside/Outside

I’m hesitating whether to go out or not, but if I would this is what I would wear. We are finally enjoying some sun in Brussels and ironically I’m sick. I hope the weather will last for me to enjoy fully! Top from Martin Margiela, pants from Eryn Brinié, Cardigan from COS, vintage Longchamp bag, sandals from Dries van Noten and Tom Ford sunglasses. The necklace is a present from a friend.

steps in the sun

Even if I’ve been feeling under the weather, I couldn’t resist going out for a quick coffee because the sun is shining so beautifully. Jasmin Santanen tunic, vintage Longchamp bag and ballerinas from Zara. I have no idea where the tights came from.
