new year’s resolutions – competition

Hello and sorry for the silence (I’ve been sneezing and coughing for the past three days). But now as the year is about to turn many of us probably have a list of New Year’s resolutions for 2013. I’ve never really made New Year’s resolutions, but I decided to do so for this year. I’m trying to keep it realistic and not to buy a yearly gym membership (I know I would give up by February) or commit to a strict diet, but I’m trying to challenge myself by making resolutions that will remind me of some important values throughout the year. And to celebrate the New Year with all of you, I’m asking you to share your New Year’s resolutions here and take part in a little competition where you can win this beautiful and inspirational Mind Body & Spirit Book of Days for 2013.

1. Be more Present.

2. Respect my body by listening to it, paying attention to what I eat and exercising regularly.

3. Non-judgement. Work on accepting myself and others.

5. Visit one country where I haven’t been before

6. Smile and make at least one person smile every day.

My new year resolution will be maybe stop hunting on flea markets, finding my treasures which in reality are “restauration projects” .My new year’s resolution will be finish all the restoration before I come back for more, oh yes..wait for it.. “Finish what I have started” THAT’S IT. xxx my dear Ms. Kankaisto!!!

    As long as I remember I had loads of resolutions for every new year and, as you can imagine, after a few months or weeks, sometimes even only after a couple of days, I had forgotten them. So this year I try another approach: I want to be optimistic and try to see the positive side of everything. And I want to dress up every day – what’s the point of pretty skirts and shirts if you don’t cherish them every day?

    I don’t have a resolution per say, but I would love spending more time outside (oh wilderness, how I’ve missed you!) and making things! I would like to better my knitting skills, and get on with my sewing projects as well. I hope the new year will bring loads of these things, and more! Gott nytt år! 🙂

  7. My resolution is not something new that I want to try out rather it is to revive the things that faded away in the past..
    More specifically to explore my lost soul, that would start with updating my blog(s) on a regular basis !

    This year I have quite ambicious goals and it will be hard to stick to the plan, so I have been thnking of ways to make my resolutions more concrete, and I divided each of my resolutions into a series of items to check either daily, weekly or monthly. I won’t overwelm you with my huge list of items, but here are my overal intentions: 1-to nurture my body(pay attention to what I eat and drink); 2-feel energized so I can be more active; 3-think before I react; 4 give back to the people who have loved and supported me in tough times; 5 be grateful and complain lëss; 6 recognize what is important and let go of what is not; 7 remember that doing what you feel like will not necessarily make you feel better; 8 step out of my confort zone – keep an open mind and accept opportunities as they come; 9 use my creativity and buy less stuff; 10 pursue my interests – stop planning and actually do stuff. I suppose it is going to be a busy year for me! 😉

    My New Year’s Resolutions this year are:
    1. I try to get rid of things I really don’t need (like clothes, papers, books etc.)
    2. I will continue to make my diet more healthy. I will eat food that I beleive to be healthy and good for my body, mind and others like environment and animals.

    My New Year’s Resolution is to spend more time with my family and start learning Spanish 🙂
