Dec 9: Chana!

9Tonight we’re going for some veggie fast food. I’m not sure when exactly Chana appeared at Parvis de Saint Gilles, but immediately when I walked in I was sold by the warm and authentic atmosphere. The pitta breads are made by hand in the open kitchen, the flavours are fresh and quickly convince you to believe that nothing here comes from a can. When I inquire about the charming clay bowls that seem to fill the kitchen and the window shelves but the lady behind the counter tells me that they are not for sale, they are made by the owner’s wife and all the bowls are used in turns for serving the delicious falafels and pakoras. To my delight she hints that sometime next year they might start selling these objects as all the customers seem to ask the same question. Bon appétit!

  1. It looks absolutely delicious. And those bowls are beautiful. I might have to go by to drop my own hint (and have a falafel as well)!
