Natural organic yogurt has multiple recognized health benefits and many of these work on the skin too. High in vitamins (B2, B12, B5) and minerals (Calcium, Zinc), natural yogurt nourishes, hydrates and protects the skin. The anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties as well as probiotics in yogurt can help relieve skin conditions such as acne. Honey softens and moisturizes while oats gently exfoliate the skin and clean pores. Aloe vera (with over 75 potentially active constituents including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, saponins and salicylic acids) has a calming, anti-inflammatory effect and can help skin healing by promoting new cell growth.
1 tsp organic natural yogurt
(Greek style goat’s milk yogurt if possible)
1 tsp organic honey
1 tsp organic oat meal
½ tsp aloe vera gel
Simply mix all ingredients in a small cup and while you let the oats soften for a few minutes, wash your face with warm water (or do a facial steam to open your pores). Apply the mask on dry skin, sit back and relax for 10-15 min before washing it off with warm water. To enhance the exfoliating effect, you can wet your hands with warm water and massage your face with circular motion before washing the mask off completely.
