chinese teapots and vintage treasures

I found these pictures today and as I find winter to be a kind of nest building season -perhaps with more hours spent at home-, I thought it would be a good moment for some interior inspiration. So, here we are: Inside a beautiful Brussels apartment surrounded by vintage furniture and souvenirs from Asia. It’s been a while since my friend moved away from this apartment, so I’ll make sure to visit her new inspiring home as well. Advertisements

romance

After the heavy reds and dark greens of Christmas I wanted to get a boost of lightness and romance to embrace the winter light of early January. Un Lien Sans Egal on Chaussee de Waterloo had exactly what I was looking for and I’m sure I will return to this beautiful store again.

Dec 5: What to get for…

A few tips if you’re wondering what to get for mom, or for another special lady in your life. Offer a heavenly blend of tea and some beautiful cups. White tea “Avec les Anges” from Tea for Two. Cups are second hand. Pamper her with a Korres face cream or a luxurious wool and silk throw from Coco-Mat. Or get her a book to read during the holidays. Another idea that can’t fail is a homemade hamper: gather some of her favourite goodies from the bio shop. Or offer a Gift Card: a good present can also be a service – offer to baby-sit, cook a three course meal, give a massage or offer to clean the house.

Home and closet visit

Thank you Marina from La Petite Nina for the beautiful feature on your website. I actually realised that I haven’t taken so many pictures of my home myself; so take a look HERE. At the same time I’m happy and terrified as Marina captured our house on a normal day with some stuff there and a mess there; So don’t expect composed home magazine material but real life. P.S. I don’t know why I always look so serious in pictures, we did have loads of fun! 😉

roses

When I grabbed this bunch of roses on my way home I didn’t realize how big it was. So 15 minutes later I found myself looking for extra vases from our glass recycling bag.

home spa

On Friday I spent a wonderfully relaxing evening with a friend at Waer Waters. However it’s not always necessary to leave the house for a pampering spa experience. All it takes is some quiet time, a few candles and relaxation music to set the spa mood into your own bathroom. And if you don’t have a bath tub at home, make yourself a warm foot bath, put on a face mask, sit down with a cup of herbal tea and a good book, or just close your eyes and relax. I love decorating the bathroom with natural objects that remind me of the sea: drift wood, sea shells and stones all have their own story to tell.
