rejuvenating yogurt face mask

Natural organic yogurt has multiple recognized health benefits and many of these work on the skin too. High in vitamins (B2, B12, B5) and minerals (Calcium, Zinc), natural yogurt nourishes, hydrates and protects the skin. The anti-bacterial and anti-microbial properties as well as probiotics in yogurt can help relieve skin conditions such as acne. Honey softens and moisturizes while oats gently exfoliate the skin and clean pores. Aloe vera (with over 75 potentially active constituents including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, saponins and salicylic acids) has a calming, anti-inflammatory effect and can help skin healing by promoting new cell growth. 1 tsp organic natural yogurt (Greek style goat’s milk yogurt if possible) 1 tsp organic honey 1 tsp organic oat meal ½ tsp aloe vera gel Simply mix all ingredients in a small cup and while you let the oats soften for a few minutes, wash your face with warm water (or do a facial steam to open your pores). Apply the mask on dry skin, sit back and relax for 10-15 min before washing …

wild rose beauty

After the Korres Brussels store opening I was eager to test the Wild Rose skin care products, which I received as a gift at the opening. As the weather is getting colder and the winter winds are blowing, it’s important to make sure that my skin is well moisturized and nourished. My skin tends to get more dry in the winter months and I usually look for a more rich face cream for this period. The Wild Rose 24-h moisturising cream feels wonderful on the skin, it absorbs easily and keeps the skin feeling soft and radiant for the whole day. I’m looking forward to see the long-term effect as already after two days my skin feels ready to battle the winter cold 🙂 The Wild Rose and Vitamin-C dark spot correcting treatment promises to prevent and remove all types of dark spots. Even if I don’t often suffer from dark spots, I’m going to use this treatment on the T-zone to make sure they stay away. The Wild Rose eye cream promises to moisturise …

Welcome to Brussels, Korres!

Last Thursday I joined the opening celebrations of the Brussels Flag Ship store for the Greek natural cosmetics brand Korres. The story of the brand, whose innovative and stylish packaging has won design awards and whose product range now offers make-up, skin care, hair products and fragrances, started when George Korres joined his pharmacological expertise with the homeopathic tradition of Greece’s first homeopathic pharmacy, The Tzivanides, to introduce a natural skin care line. I remember how I first got to know this brand, when I found a small selection of the it’s products in a pharmacy in Cyprus about 5-6 years ago. I had read about Korres before, but the products were difficult to come by back then in Finland. Over the years I have discovered a few pharmacies and retailers stocking my favourite face wash and shower gel wherever I lived, but now I’m happy that I can just walk into this amazing store and experience the world of Korres to the full. The store is located on one of the little charming side streets …

skin focus

A few people have asked me how I take care of my skin and I thought that today would be the perfect day to share my skin rituals and beauty tips. I believe that the key to the perfect skin cannot not be found only in expensive creams and lotions but most importantly in the way we eat, sleep and love our body. I prefer natural cosmetics and often my beauty shopping is done at the bio shop. I have a few favourite skin care products including: – Washing: Korres white tea fluid gel cleanser. – Eyes: Clarins Eye revive beauty flash for day and Clarins Eye contour balm for night. – Moisturising: Both my day and night creams are from Lift Argan bio cosmetic line. I try to treat myself to a little facial treatment at home once a week. A quick tip for a scrub: mix half a teaspoon of organic coffee, half a teaspoon of organic brown sugar and a bit of moisturizer.  For deep cleansing I use green clay and to revitalize …

Bright eyes

In my war against fine lines I’ve been looking for a good weapon for the strategic eye area for quite some time and I think I finally found it! I just tried this Line-Reducing Eye-Brightening Concentrate from Kiehl’s and wow. First of all the texture is so light that right after gently patting the concentrate along the orbital bone under my eyes my skin doesn’t feel greasy but light, refreshed and nourished. Apparently the high amount of vitamin C and Haloxyl (that fights against those dark circles) should do wonders. This concentrate is recommended for day use because of it’s light texture and brightening effect. So my search for the perfect eye cream for the night still continues… P.S. For those of you in Finland, Kiehl’s has arrived to Helsinki Kämp Galleria about a month ago. Yippee!
